Our Services

Latah SWCD works through voluntary, incentive-based programs to assist private landowners and agricultural operators with the conservation of land, water, plant, and wildlife resources throughout Latah County.

Stream & Meadow Restoration

We restore wetland and riparian areas through floodplain reconnection, channel realignment, native plantings, livestock exclusion and more, on private and public lands.

Conservation Agriculture

We provide technical assistance to local producers in maintaining and improving long-term soil productivity and preserving agricultural, range, and pasture land.

Forestry & Wildfire Management

We assist landowners in fuels reduction, forest productivity and preservation goals.

Palouse Prairie Restoration

We help landowners preserve and expand this endangered ecosystem through field conversion, developing management practices, planting native plants, and more.

Fisheries

We preserve and restore fish habitat for the benefit of resident and anadromous fish in the Palouse and Potlatch water systems through riparian restoration, culvert replacement, and research.

Pollinator Habitat

We partner with landowners as well as local, state, and federal agencies to increase habitat for important pollinator species.

Plant Resources

We provide information and technical assistance to control invasive weeds and restore habitat to sustain special status plants.

Education and Outreach

We coordinate and support a range of workshops and events for landowners and community members.
