Conservation Awareness Days
Every May we host an all-day field trip for 5th and 6th graders in Latah County. Classes come to Spring Valley to learn about conservation through interactive stations. Volunteers from different agencies and professions share their experience and knowledge with the students relating to fighting wildfire, native plants, fishing, and more.

Monarch Waystations
Latah SWCD works with schools in Latah County to create Certified Monarch Butterfly Waystations. These stations provide a learning opportunity for students as well as habitat for Monarchs as they migrate to and from Mexico to winter. These stations are made of Milkweed, nectar plants and provide shelter for Monarchs during their journey.

Clearwater Basin Youth Conservation Corps
Latah SWCD has worked with Clearwater Basin Youth Conservation Corps (CBYCC) for several seasons. They come out in the field with us to plant, build in-stream structures, and more! This crew is always fun to work with and we hope to continue this partnership.

Financial Support and Scholarships for Youth
We provide financial support and assistance for students to participate in these events:
